Growth Masala ("we", "us") is a digital marketing agency based in Mahabubnagar, Telangana. This policy covers https://growthmasala.com, our website chatbot, and the messages we send to businesses on WhatsApp.
If anything here is unclear, email us at growthmasala@gmail.com and we will answer in plain language.
The short version
- We collect what you type into our contact form or chatbot, and we email it to ourselves. There is no customer database behind this website.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits.
- We identify businesses from publicly listed information and may contact them once with an offer.
- You can tell us to stop at any time, and we will.
- We do not sell your information to anybody, ever.
Information you give us directly
The contact form
The form on our contact page asks for your name, email address, phone number, business name, the service you are interested in, and your message. Name, email and message are required; the rest are optional.
When you submit it, we send that information to our own inbox as an email. It is not written to a database and it is not stored on this website. The email sits in our mailbox until we delete it.
We use it to reply to you and to prepare a quote. Nothing else.
Masala Bot, our website chatbot
The chat widget in the corner of the site is an AI assistant. Two things happen when you use it:
- Your messages are sent to Anthropic, the company that provides the AI model, so it can generate a reply. Anthropic processes the text to produce the response. Do not paste passwords, bank details, or anything confidential into it — the same advice applies to any chatbot on any website.
- The conversation is stored in your own browser, in something called session storage. It stays on your device so the chat is still there if you move between pages, and your browser clears it when you close the tab. We cannot read it.
If the bot asks for your name, phone number and what you need, and you choose to give them, those three details are emailed to us in the same way the contact form is. That is the only part of a chat conversation that ever reaches us.
We apply a temporary rate limit based on your IP address to stop the chatbot being abused. That count is held in memory for one minute and is never written to disk or stored.
Information collected automatically
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they read, and roughly where they are in the world. It sets cookies in your browser and collects your approximate location, device type, browser, and the pages you view.
This is aggregate and statistical. We are looking at whether a blog post is being read, not at what you personally did.
You can opt out entirely with Google's browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. The site works normally either way.
Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by Vercel. Like every web host, their servers keep short-term technical logs of requests — IP address, timestamp, the page requested, and browser type. These are standard security and reliability records, not something we mine.
Business contact information we collect from public sources
This section is the one most privacy policies leave out, so we are being explicit about it.
We identify local businesses that might benefit from what we do. To do that we collect information that businesses have already published publicly — on Google Maps, in business directories, and on their own listings. Specifically:
- business name, category and locality
- the phone number the business publishes for enquiries
- publicly displayed rating and review counts
- whether the business appears to have a website of its own
We do not collect personal information about individuals this way, we do not buy contact lists from anybody, and we do not use scraped personal email addresses.
Why we get in touch
Our service is building websites for local businesses. A business with no website is the business most likely to want one. Where a business has published a contact number for enquiries, we may send a single message introducing what we do — on WhatsApp, by phone, or by email.
That message is business-to-business, it names why we contacted that specific business, and it always identifies us as Growth Masala.
How to stop hearing from us
Any of these works, immediately and permanently:
- reply STOP to any WhatsApp message from us
- email growthmasala@gmail.com asking to be removed
- tell us on the phone
When you opt out, we stop contacting you and we do not start again.
One thing worth being honest about: to make sure we never message you again, we have to remember not to. We keep your number on an internal do-not-contact list. That list is used for one purpose only — checking it before anything is sent — and it is never used to market to you, and never shared.
Who we share information with
We use a small number of established service providers. Each one only ever receives what it needs to do its job.
| Provider | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Anonymous usage data, cookies | Counting visits |
| Anthropic | Chatbot messages you type | Generating the bot's reply |
| Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform) | Phone number and message content | Delivering WhatsApp messages |
| Vercel | Technical request logs | Hosting the site |
| Google (Gmail) | Contact form and chatbot lead emails | Delivering those emails to us |
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for anyone else's advertising. We will disclose information if the law requires it of us, and not otherwise.
Where your information is processed
Some of the providers above operate outside India, so information may be processed in other countries. Each is a major provider operating under its own published privacy commitments.
How long we keep it
- Contact form and chatbot enquiries — kept in our email for as long as they are useful, and deleted on request.
- Client records — kept for the duration of the project, and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep them.
- Do-not-contact list — kept indefinitely, because deleting it is what would cause us to contact you again.
- Chat conversations — cleared by your own browser when you close the tab.
- Analytics — retained per Google Analytics' own settings.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:
- tell you what information about you we hold
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete what we hold
- withdraw consent you previously gave
Email growthmasala@gmail.com and we will action it within 30 days. There is no charge. See our data deletion page for exactly how a deletion request works.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you may raise a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India.
Cookies
We use cookies for two things: Google Analytics, and any strictly necessary cookies our host sets to serve the site. We do not run advertising or tracking cookies of our own.
Your browser can block or delete cookies at any time. Nothing on this site breaks if you do.
Children
This site is for businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be obvious rather than quiet.
